Managing Strategies

Once you’ve created strategies, here’s how to manage them day-to-day.

Enabling and Disabling Strategies

Each strategy has a toggle switch on the right side.

  • Enabled (green) — The bot will actively look for trades using this strategy
  • Disabled (gray) — The bot ignores this strategy entirely. Existing positions opened by this strategy are still monitored, but no new trades will be opened.

To toggle a strategy, just click the switch. No confirmation needed — it takes effect immediately.

đź’ˇ Tip: Start with one strategy enabled while you learn the system. Add more as you get comfortable.

Viewing Strategy Details

Click anywhere on a strategy card to expand it. You’ll see three columns of detailed information:

Entry Rules

  • DTE range
  • Short and long delta targets
  • Minimum premium requirements
  • IV rank filter settings
  • Moving average filters
  • Market hours restrictions

Exit Rules

  • Profit target percentage
  • Stop loss percentage
  • Time-based stops
  • Trailing stop settings (if configured)

Position Sizing

  • Fixed or risk-based mode
  • Contracts per position or risk per trade
  • Max contract cap

The Decision Badge

Each strategy shows a decision badge — this is the result of the bot’s most recent evaluation:

BadgeColorMeaning
OPENGreenThe bot found an opportunity and opened a trade
PASSGreenMarket conditions look good, but no specific entry was found
SKIPAmberThe bot checked but conditions weren’t right (e.g., IV too low, spread too wide)
FAILRedSomething went wrong (e.g., order rejected)
HOLDGrayMonitoring existing positions, not looking for new entries
CLOSEBlueThe bot closed a position

Below the badge, you’ll see the reason — a brief explanation of the decision, plus a timestamp.

Editing a Strategy

  1. Click the strategy to expand it
  2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) in the bottom-right of the expanded view
  3. The Strategy Builder opens with all current settings pre-filled
  4. Make your changes
  5. Click Save

⚠️ You cannot edit a strategy while the bot is running. Stop the bot first, make your changes, then restart it.

Deleting a Strategy

  1. Click the strategy to expand it
  2. Click the Delete button (trash icon) in the bottom-right
  3. The strategy is removed immediately

⚠️ Deleting a strategy does NOT close any positions that were opened by it. You’ll need to close those positions manually or let the bot’s exit rules handle them.

Refreshing Engine Context

Click the refresh button (🔄) next to “New Strategy” to update the bot’s evaluation of all strategies. This forces the bot to re-check market conditions, corporate events, and regime status.

What You’ll See After Refresh

When you expand a strategy after refreshing, you may see additional context panels:

Corporate Events — Shows upcoming earnings dates and ex-dividend dates for the underlying. The bot uses this to avoid trading into earnings or dividend events.

Market Context — Shows technical indicators the bot considers:

  • ADX — Trend strength indicator
  • Trend — Current market trend direction
  • VRP Δ — Volatility risk premium delta

Strategy-Specific: Wheel Strategy

If you’re using a Wheel strategy, you’ll see extra information:

  • State badge — “Searching Puts” (looking to sell cash-secured puts) or “Selling Calls” (holding shares, selling covered calls)
  • Cost Basis — If holding shares, your adjusted cost basis
  • Wheel Config — Specific delta and DTE settings for the put-selling and call-selling phases
